Miss
Competition
-
Must
be a citizen of the United States of America.
-
Must
be born female, single, never married, have
never conceived a child, and be of good character.

Must
be a resident of the State of Texas for the past six (6) months or a
student of an accredited Texas college or University for at least one
(1) full semester enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours
or the maximum required for the degree plan chosen.

Must (a) be at least seventeen (17) years of age at the time of your
first appearance in the preliminary round of the local or state
competition and (b) be no older than twenty-four (24) years of age
on December 31, 2010.

Must
be a High School Senior by the time of your first appearance in
preliminary round of the local or state competition and can or will be
able to produce a diploma as proof thereof upon request or that you
have or will have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program
for high school equivalency and can or will produce proof thereof upon
request or have or will have successfully completed the academic
requirements for entry into a four year college/degree program.

If
you held a Miss America local title during the 2009 pageant season and
either resigned your title or lost your title for some reason, you may
not be eligible to compete in a Miss America local pageant again until
the 2011 pageant season. Please contact the
director prior to entering.

Miss
America has officially partnered with the
Children's Miracle Network
to
develop a National Platform. The National Platform starts at the local
pageant level with the 2009-2010 pageant year. Each contestant must
secure a $100.00 donation in her name to the Children’s Miracle
Network in order to compete in the local pageant.

Outstanding
Teen Competition
-
There
is a $100.00 entry fee, payable in advance, sent in with your
application.

Must
be a citizen of the United States of America.

Must
be female, single, never married, have never conceived a child, and be
of good character.

Must
be a resident of the State of Texas at least six (6) months prior to the
start of the pageant.

Must
be between the ages of thirteen (13) and
seventeen (17) years of age by the start of the pageant.

Must
be no more than a Junior classification in high school unless you are
a sixteen (16) year old or younger Senior and won't turn seventeen
(17) until after the last Miss Texas preliminary is held. In this
instance, you are not eligible for the Miss division and can continue
as a Teen for one more year.

Interviews
will be six minutes long. There will not be opening
or closing statements.
